What We Do:

If you are interested in learning about computers and their uses and gaining I.T qualifications (or just building your confidence and knowledge), then the Winfield trust can offer you training, advice and support.

How to enrol: Contact us on 01892 519589 to arrange a;taster session at which you can come to meet us, see the centre and what we have to offer you. Then if you wish to proceed, you and a keyworker (e.g. a psychiatrist, social worker, community psychiatric nurse, GP or OT) fill in a simple application form and return it to us.

When can I join? As soon as possible –We are open 50 weeks of the year. If you tell us when you prefer to attend we will try to fit in with your timetable. If we are full, we will put your name on a waiting list and inform you when we expect a place to be available.

How long is the course? We can offer a course that will best meet your needs. We suggest that you try to attend two 2 1/2 hour sessions per week.

We enrol throughout the year,
Project sessions run –
10.00 to 12.30 / 14.00 to 16.30
This includes a short tea break

The training programme: The course you will follow is flexible and highly personalised to meet your needs. You will be working at your own pace in a small friendly office training environment. Students on the course support each other and the maximum group size is eleven.

There is a good opportunity to gain basic qualifications in word processing, spreadsheets and database using the RSA New Clait course.

We also offer employment Support services fifteen hours each week.

If you decide to extend your computing skills we have introduced ClaitPlus though we would also look at other avenues of study as the ‘next step’ through a formal link with West Kent College.

Other Services: -We are more than just a computer training centre we have also helped people in the following ways:

  • Help with benefit advice.
  • The chance to prepare CVs and formal documents including scanning documents.
  • The opportunity to send E-mails and faxes.
  • To photocopy and use the telephone.
  • To access the World Wide Web.
  • Advice on computer usage after leaving Winfield.
